What do you do for a living?
Some people will say “I’m a doctor,” or “I’m a computer programmer.”
Our identities, our sense of who we are, get caught up in what we do .
When this happens and jobs shift and change as AI and automation removes certain parts of our roles, we will need to be open to our roles being more fluid so we don’t hold ourselves back.
My sense is getting clear on our values and personality traits while focusing on learning new mindsets and skillsets will serve us better than being certain our job now will be what we will be doing in the future.
Our ego reinforces who we are and the stories we tell about ourselves.
According to Dan Gilbert: we remember more easily than we imagine.
It seems a good time to build the ability to re-author those stories and start imagining a future self we could become.
