You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.
What a great quote and an inspiration to me when I think of starting on my journey towards being a Singer, Life Coach and Motivational Speaker which has been my ambition since I was about 15 / 16.
However, it’s easy to start saying I want to achieve this and not doing anything about it – I live and breathe this stuff so every morning I get up and go for a run / do weights / cycle while listening to motivational movies.
I’ve started a course in Life and Business Coaching and am now on my 3rd module. I have coached people on the class and have a number of clients that I’m coaching right now even though I’m not qualified but they see the value in what I do and how much I believe in this.
Towards my goal of singing, I have been gigging every weekend for the last number of years. I have worked hard since my first gig, where I was stopped after a short while because I hadn’t prepared enough. I was laughed at, slagged but I came back fighting. In one weekend this month I will earn €650 from gigs. A couple of years ago when I was starting I never would have dreamed I could earn this much. What’s the difference? I took action, I practiced, I prepared and I believed in what I thought was possible. I know some day I’ll play during a weekend and be on 10 times that much money, or 100 times. I believe it’s possible and I’m willing to take action toward it. Believe it’s possible and take action TODAY! Do something however small it may seem! A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, take the step and let me know how you get on!
