Today is a day I’m struggling to feel good about myself. It happens me every now and again and it’s hard to actually even admit when I’m someone that others see as confident and motivated!
I’ve worked on my confidence and positivity for the last 10 years, I still think it’s work in progress and every day I try and do something to help my confidence and positivity. So I thought I’d write what came to me about what advice I would give myself today to motivate myself and feel more positive. I wrote it in a journal I have but felt if I shared it here that it might give other people hope and positive energy!
Don’t look outside yourself to feel good about yourself. You have to be able to make yourself happy on the inside so that you don’t rely on other things or people to feel good about yourself. “If who you are is what you have and what you have is lost then who are you?”
Trust yourself and your decisions, they are your best at each moment. Your best will change depending on the day, your energy etc. but it is always your best at that time. Don’t judge yourself too harshly on days when your best isn’t as good as you thought it could be, forgive yourself and know you couldn’t have done any more.
Look inside yourself and know that you have a beauty and a gift to share with the world. Get out into the world and share it!! If you hold it inside and you die, you have deprived the world of this beauty and greatness and the world needs what you have to offer even if you don’t feel it!!
Some people dance, some people act, I sing – that is my gift and one that I hope to give to the world as much as possible. I come alive when I am singing and fully present in my performing.
Don’t let fear hold you back, or opinions of others. They are assumptions and won’t make you feel any better about yourself. And most of the time they’re imagined in your head and not real!
Be strong – don’t rely on others to keep you strong. Appreciate the good days, learn from the bad days, they are there to teach you something about yourself. Help others and see how much you get from this. You will always receive more that you give!
Love yourself and all your good and bad qualities. Focus on your strengths and work on your weaknesses. Love others and love life – it’s not a dress rehearsal, it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity to live today! So live it with everything you’ve got, and give everything you’ve got.
Until next time 🙂
